Yam planting

I spent saturday planting yams with my cousins and uncle. We have a trditional way of planting yams on efate, each island has their own way of planting yam. On efate, we dig the hole over 1 metre deep into the soil then we “soften” the hard chunks of soil before we plant the yam. We planted a few different varieties of yam and each one in a certain way. it was a good physical workout after spending the whole week in front of the computer, it felt good to work up some sweat and get back to basics again.
